Aims:

• To enable the elderly to stay at home
• To provide relief and support to their families
• To work in liaison with health professionals in the community.

Our carers:

Great care is taken in the selection of carers, many of whom are recommended by existing carers, tried and trusted over many years. In recent years we have some wonderful polish people working with us. References are required and checked. Carers are offered training by a health and pastoral care professionals. Emphasis is placed on the dignity of the elderly person and an awareness of their losses- emotional and physical.

The type of care we do is varied – some people need a little help over a short period, others need round the clock, live in or night care. We try to meet whatever requests we get.

The duties of the carer include:

• Meal preparation
• Light housework
• Shopping
• Personal laundry
• Companionship
• Help with washing and dressing
• Help to prepare for bed
• Continence care

Carers maintain a clean and safe environment in the home as well as accompanying the elderly person when they are able to go out.

On receiving a request for service, the agency selects and sends a carer for interview. The matching of carer to client is an integral part of the agency’s work. The client needs to be comfortable with and happy to see the carer who comes into their home. The agency provides on going monitoring of the care and replacement cover when needed.

You are invited to contact the Agency to discuss your own requirements and every effort will be made to accommodate the individual need.

Carers go out as self-employed and are paid directly by the family on a weekly basis. The agency fee is payable every month on receipt of invoice.
